Guest Bio
Paulette advises and represents employees in all aspects of employment law, including wrongful and constructive dismissal claims, disability claims including accommodation and benefit entitlement, restrictive covenants, and privacy issues. As well, she advises and represents unions and associations in matters relating to labour relations.
Paulette has a strong background in civil litigation especially relating to medical and disability benefit claims. She has appeared before the Alberta Court of Appeal, the Alberta Court of Queen’s Bench, and the Provincial Court of Alberta, and the Northwest Territories Human Rights Adjudication Panel. She has also appeared before the Alberta Labour Relations Board and has an active labour arbitration practice.
Paulette is also a sessional instructor at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT) where she teaches labour relation and business law. She is a member of the Canadian Bar Association (CBA) and is Vice-Chair of the Labour and Employment (North) Section and Mentoring Co-Chair of the Women Lawyers Forum.
Paulette is admitted to the Law Society of Alberta and the Law Society of the Northwest Territories. She is a mediator and facilitator and is working towards national designation as a Qualified Mediator.
In her free time, Paulette enjoys being outside camping, climbing, hiking, skiing, and spending time in the mountains.
