Guest Bio


Riley obtained her law degree from the University of Saskatchewan in 2008 and became a member of the Law Society of Alberta in 2009.  She has practiced Family Law her entire career, first with Legal Aid Alberta and since 2017 as a partner with Latitude Family Law.  

 

Riley is a litigator, mediator, and registered Collaborative Family Lawyer. She also has experience representing children in high-conflict parenting matters. She is a Legal Aid Alberta roster lawyer and participates in the Independent Legal Advice for Survivors of Sexual Violence Program administered by the Elizabeth Fry Society. 

 

She is involved with the Canadian Bar Association and is currently the chair of the Canadian Bar Association Alberta Branch’s Family Law (North) section and on the executive committees of the Solo, Small and General Practice (North) section and the Child and Youth (North) section. She enjoys mentoring law students and new lawyers and recently coached the University of Alberta’s moot team in the Western Canada Family Law Negotiation Competition.​
